Ryan Nixon is an engineer, educator, and researcher dedicated to transforming learning through hands-on, experience-based, and design-focused education. With a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and over twenty years in aerospace, biomechanics, and medical engineering, he understands how innovation evolves—from lab to application. Ryan founded Ascension Learning to connect theory with practice, making advanced engineering accessible for learners of all ages.
Sarah Nixon is a marketing strategist and Ph.D.-trained linguist who loves making complex ideas feel approachable and genuinely interesting. She spent several years teaching linguistics and Spanish in higher education before moving into marketing, where she now blends communication strategy and storytelling to support mission-driven organizations. In her free time, Sarah shares regenerative gardening and food literacy content with a community of 65K+, to help people connect with how things grow. Throughout her work, she is committed to using education to inspire learning, growth, and thriving communities.
